I have got a similar problem, but with the MyMemory MT: at least two plugged in apps identified for this kind of problem, it is more and more likely that the problem lies with Studio  (only 2019?).

I had a similar issue when working with virtually merged files, which was virtually impossible as one segment confirmation would take minutes to execute. In my case, restarting Studio worked for a while, then the problem came back. Working with a large number of virtually merged files (hundreds) is something I stopped doing. (These were XML files, the total number of segments was small and the same content in one large XML file worked fine, no problem.) I am sure there is a problem with virtually merged files - maybe a memory leak? As for grammar checks - I have yet to find a program that understands German grammar, once tried to start a discussion thread on this, but little response: https://community.sdl.com/product-groups/translationproductivity/f/general/25677/best-grammar-checker-for-german I am currently using the Duden Mentor: mentor.duden.de

I use an AHK script to quickly copy content into it, since there are no APIs and no plugins yet. It does a superb job of finding misspelled words, but the grammar check is quite rudimentary. It sometimes finds issues, but there is a lot of stuff it does not notice.

What about Language Tool? There is a plugin on the AppStore for that and it does grammar checks. I am not using it because I find neither of the grammar checkers convincing, but if the Word plugin (which has been discussed quite a bit on this forum, because of the problems caused) does not work well for you, that might be an option.

Hi Gérard, the Problem only occurs with 2019. In 2017 the Grammar checker works fine and no such freezing issues have been reported.

Thanks for your reply. :) The Grammar checker itself does a pretty okay job, let's say it's mostly sufficient alhtough it also produces a lot of false positives sometimes.

We are right now testing Language Tool and it seems to do a pretty good job. Disadvantage is that it uses Java and opens an additional window that cannot be closed apparently.

I was misunderstood: the second plugin I am thinking of is the one mentioned by Tom Wegner, i.e. the MS Grammar Checker.
