I took a look at this today.  I used Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.7.2849 and I used the plugin version 3.3.7.1 as this is the latest version on the appstore.  To begin with I used en-it:

So... I can say it all works ok for me!  So I suggest you clean up your install a little and try again.  I'd start by removing all existing plugins, so delete the contents of these folders:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Packages\

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Unpacked\

Then reset Studio.  Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0

So the path would become this:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0_old

If you can't find these folders then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

thank you very much for looking into my problem.

I performed the procedure, but it did help.

Here's a screenshot. SDL Selected engine not selected -> file selectable. Once the engine is selected, file not available anymore.

And I cannot chose NL-NL in the LC language variants to add

I believe your problem somehow relates to how your project is set up because of the flags which indicate multiple languages.  Can you tell us more about your project settings?  Perhaps show a screenshot of your language pairs in your project settings and also confirm the level at which you added your engines?

I'm trying but after performing the procedure you suggested, I've got this error now when selecting the Deepl API

This is an unrelated problem due to a problem that DeepL are investigating at the moment.  It's linked to the API keys they provide that seem to have a problem with V2 of their API when getting the supported languages.

ho... ok... well we'll have to wait for this problem to be sorted out first I guess :).

Unless installing a former version of the APi would work?

I managed to solve the Deepl issue. 

I also could generate a report WITH SDL LC and Deepl (yeay), but when it comes to Belgian French and Dutch variants, these do not seem to be selectable/compatible in/with SDL LC (France French and Netherlands dutch variants are though).

Does it means SDL LC only allows one specific variant of the languages?

Normally LC will default to the main language if there is no support for the variants.  But perhaps you should try working with this app instead:

It carries many benefits over the out of the box LC provider, one of which is the ability to map languages.  So it's possible to tell it to use one language you know is supported in preference to another that might not be.

Although having said that it seems to be already mapped to a general French by default:

But give it a try... if you get in a mess just reset to default!
