Google Translate AutoSuggest not working

Question

Hello, 
 I've been successfully using GT AutoSuggest for quite a long time. A few days ago, it stopped working - no suggestions are offered. The same happened on both my computers (desktop/laptop), and I've seen other users complaining about the same, so I guess something must have changed. 
 Is there a way to get GT AutoSuggest working as it did before (which was great)?

Hi guys, I'm not the developer (obviously) and I thiknh Xingzeng may well still be on leave for Easter. Give him this week and I imagine he'll be responding next week now. 
I did think this was working for me but I can see now it's not. Maybe work with the MT AutoSuggest in the meantime... works with any MT engine at all... just add the engine and then disable it in the settings. The AutoSuggest will come through (I checked!) but you don't get the full MT result polluting your target in one go (if you prefer to work this way). 
I had a scout around to see whether Google changed anything in their API but I could not see anything obvious so we will need to wait for the developer to investigate this. 
It would be worth knowing what version of Studio and which CU you are all using? Also, did you notice if it started to fail after a particular event?

It seems GT AutoSuggest is working again as it used to.

Hi guys, 
 I spoke with the developer and it seems the reason it does not work anymore is because Google added CAPTCHA to the translation service used for this feature. The solution to this problem is for him to add to the UI so it asks the user to fill in the response for each Studio startup. 
 I don't have timescales on this but I know he's working on it. 
 Until then, or even instead of, you have the MT AutoSuggest. This can also use Google but of course you have to pay for that service. SDL Language Cloud would be free and perhaps a useful alternative if the support for your language pairs is there.

I'm afraid not. The developer will get to this when he has time. I believe he's engaged in a high priority project at the moment. Until then you could use MT AutoSuggest as this will work fine. If you have a Google account you can use Google Translate with this, or you can use the free Language Cloud account.

I guess you could still add Google MT to your Project so that MT AutoSuggest uses this instead? But then you will have to pay for it. Hopefully the developer will find time to address this soon.

Hi Simon, 
 The developer has created one that requires you to enter a captcha every time Studio starts but we have not published it yet. There is a discussion going on about the legalities of the way it works and until this is resolved it won't be getting placed back on the openexchange. 
 You can of course use Google MT and then MT AutoSuggest if you find this gives you language pairs you can't get elsewhere or you think the quality is better. This is exactly the same result with the difference you need an API key from Google and have to pay for the translations.
