Hi All,
I installed IRIS PDF OCR Support for Studio from the RWS Appstore or Trados Studio Add-in feature and converted PDF data with scanned text, but languages other than English were not OCRed.
English converts fine even with the OCR feature turned off, so I don't think it's being converted using IRIS.
How can I use IRIS functions?

Thanks for sending the files. I think the reason is probably because only 17 languages are supported for OCR as noted here:

High quality optical character recognition in 17 languages (English, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish , Slovenian, Swedish and Turkish) for reconstructing scanned pages as editable documents.

Thank you so much for your testing and the above information.
However, the despcription of the IRIS PDF OCR Support for Studio plug-in in the AppStore says "The IRIS add-on is an app for SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 or higher that provides support for recognizing text in scanned PDF documents with Asian content. ... It also upgrades Studio 2017's current OCR tool, providing more powerful and better quality conversions for over 130 different languages. "
So could you further check why the app does not work fine for recognizing scanned Japanese characters (and probably other Asian chars)?

Please log a case with technical support as this is not a product that is managed by the appstore team. It is developed by the core product team.

I'm clearly talking rubbish as this is solidworks and I completely forgot that IRIS uses something else. So if you have a problem due to it not being able to OCR Asian languages when there is a claim that it does then the technical supprt team will need to take this to development and they will either have to fix our implementation of it, or go back to IRIS - https://www.irislink.com/ - and see if there is something lacking on their end.
