client services cxm add-on issue

Hi all. I have just installed the Client Services CXM add-on for Trados Studio 2014. The link to the Knowledge Base works but the link to the community does not - Resource cannot be found - which is sensible given that the link does appear no longer to exist (group SDL_Quickstart).

Is the group still supposed to be there, or do the developers need to update their add-on to use a new link, can anyone tell me, please?

    This is entirely my bad!! The app is mine, the QuickStart is actually this group but we renamed it, and I have every intention of getting this app updated and upgraded so we can provide a richer and improved amount of information to users.

    It actually wasn't heavily downloaded so I didn't worry about it too much and have the plans for a future build on the back burner a little. Do you think it's useful then? What else would you like to see in it?

  • Hi Paul! I downloaded and installed it today after your subtle prompting for me to use this group for my issues :D - I decided to do things properly and went back to your original instructions...

    I think I would like to see it as an extra menu tab, rather than having to go to a separate function, but I guess that requires full integration and would probably not be high on the functional priority list.

    Perhaps it would be possible for the user to set the group link they want to land on (within this community)? (that way if the groups changed again you wouldn't need to do anything other than provide some helpful error message, rather than give yourself maintenance issues?). It could also mean that we could have different landing pages at different times or in different installations - say, Beta and not... (assuming you decide it's useful enough to make available in future versions).

    I'll have a little thunk and see if anything else springs to mind. If you wanted to make it a 'Paul helpful special app.' you could include a wizardy thing to add web pages to the Edit area, I'm just vaguely remembering one of your super-useful blog posts that I shared and then did not put into practice for myself! You'll know what I'm talking about, I'm sure.

    Why is this better?  Whether it's a View or a menu tab (presumably you mean a ribbon group?) it's integrated, so make no difference.

    I admit the difference is sincerely minimal since the Client Services screen takes very little time to load; instinctively it feels like there must be an extra click, but unless it were on each menu, that is not the case. Ignore me :)
