Transit Package Handler does not preserve folder structure from PPF

Hi everyone,

we've noticed that the Transit Package Handler plug-in does not preserve the folder structure that comes with a PPF.

In our case, we initially had two subfolders in the Transit project.

After unpacking the PPF in Trados Studio, the folder structure is gone both in the Studio project and the TPF file.

With these folders completely gone in the TPF (and all translation files put in the root directory of the package), Transit cannot overwrite the original target language files when importing the translations,

as it fails to assign the files to the correct subfolder. The target language files need to be overwritten manually then, which is rather time consuming.

We would appreciate if someone could have a look into this!

Many thanks in advance, best regards,

Julian

  • Hi

    Thank you for your feedback.

In September /  October this year we released a couple of fixes for Transit based on what was reported / reproducible.
What you listed does not overlap so we should tackle it 1:1

a - converting of dictionaries between the providers. Could you please add that to the ideas area RWS AppStore Ideas

b - With regards to subfolders. SDLCOM-4938 which Paul mentioned was aimed at preserving folder structures
While we had an expert user test and confirm perhaps we can align with you also to see we have covered all the key requirements as I note you are mentioning TM's specifically and not just files within sub folders.

c - lsimplicio@sdl.com and once you email me we can align on concern b Slight smile

    Speak with you soon
