I'm sure when you posted this you will have been presented with a host of threads that dealt with this already.  

If you review the release notes with SR1 you will see there were some fairly major breaking changes that affect the use of the APIs. Not all developers have updated their plugins yet. So the best approach is to delete everything you have in these folders:

%APPDATA%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

c:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

Then restart Studio and reinstall them via the integrated AppStore in Trados Studio. This way you will only install the ones that will actually work with SR1. If your apps are not in the list yet then contact the developer via the support link at https://appstore.rws.com/ for the app in question (every developer has some form of contact details) and ask them to update their apps for SR1.

However, on MT Enhanced... I recommend you don't use it all!  Use the Google Translate plugin that we created to replace this as it was getting too hard to maintain a plugin initially developed by others.  This one:

I followed your instructions, deleted all the content from those 3 folders, uninstalled the MT Enhanced plugin, and then installed the Google Translation plugin and my Google Translation API is working again now :)

resatrt and install only from RWS

I only just got started on this... But:

- I don't find "Trados Studio\17", only "Trados Studio\16".

- Both Plugins folders in the AppData and ProgramData are empty! Yet Studio shows a large number of apps installed.

- Also my Trados folders are under AppData\Local and AppData\Roaming -- not directly under AppData, like you specify. And I don't even have a %LOCALAPPDATA% folder!

I seem to remember that, in similar situations, the suggestions included to empty the Plugin folders also under AppData\Roaming (where the Plugin folders are not empty).

Anyway, when I rename the Roaming Plugins folder and thus cannot see any installed plugins in the file structure, they are still there in Studio and I still get the message that the translation provider could not be opened and has been disabled.

So now I have uninstalled all the MT provider plugins and re-installed some of them. Still the same problem! And no "17" folder, nor any content in the previously empty Plugins folders.

Any suggestions?

So that means you are not using Trados Studio 2022.  Adapt the instructions for the version you are using.

Really?  You are clearly not looking in the right place.  If you have installed apps from the appstore and you see them in Studio then it is not possible for these folders to be empty.

Yes.  Tell us clearly what version of Studio you are using.

Trados Studio 2022 SR1 - 17.1.6.16252

Sorry -- I *was* wrong about the 17 and the folders (I was used to looking for the SDL folder, which was the case before). But this is what I get looking at the right places:

But I see now -- looking correctly -- that there IS a Trados folder also in the AppData\Roaming folder. Maybe that is the one to act on instead of the %LOCALAPPDATA%\ one.

Anyway, thanks for reacting so quickly! I hope you can find the solution as quickly (but admit that the images above are confusing!). Meanwhile, I'll try inactivating the Roaming folders.

The result, after emptying the Roaming folders and re-installing some MT provider apps: They appear in the Roaming folders but not in the othter Trados\17 ones. And unfortunately, the apps still don't work. For ModernMT, for instance, the message still is that The translation provider could not be opened and has been disabled. For Intento, The method was not found. For Custom.MT, the same as with ModernMT.

ok.  You have not read the release notes and you are clearly trying to install apps into SR1 that will not work in SR1.  Please delete these folders completely and then only reinstall your apps from the integrated appstore so you ensure you take apps that will work.

Do not under any circumstances try to install the apps you already have on your computer somewhere as they probably won't work.
