I'm currently using Studio 2019.
And I found that DeepL Translation Provider now automatically applies updated language when DeepL includes new language.

or should I update my studio to 2022 and get support?

When we first applied this fix I think it was for 2021, and we also updated 2019. So yes, 2019 has the same mechanism. But worth noting the more recent fixes, and glossary support, are not in the 2019 version and we won't be updating that any more.
