Dear Colleagues,
It's a pleasure to e-greet you. My name is Martín and I'm preparing a presentation on the OpenAI Translator plugin for Elevate. I'm very excited to share it with the Trados community!
I've been browsing through different posts to be up-to-date, but I still have some unresolved questions, such as:
- Is the analysis focused specifically on either source or target text? Or is it possible to analyze the whole segment, e.g. for proofreading? One of my unsuccessful tests in this scenario was to simply introduce a "no" in the target, which I the model was unable to detect as a change of meaning with different prompts.
- Segment-by-segment processing: on the same line of thought, is it possible to analyze the context (specifically surrounding segments), for example, to improve the translation of anaphoric references? An example would be the pronoun "it" in English, which translates into Spanish with a different gender depending on the referent.
- Tags and formatting: so far I haven't been able to process tags or formatting with the plugin. Is there a workaround or is this supposed to provide plain text as an output?
- Prompt drafting/editing box only allows single-line text: I tried to paste a prompt from my prompt library and the box only retained the first line. My workaround was to paste all the lines one by one as one long sentence. Would it be possible to enable paragraph style editing in the prompt box?
I think that's it for now. Thank you for your attention!
Best,
Martín
