Is there any way in the AppStore to see whether or not plugins involve data leaving your local IT environment?

Question

Following a number of recent questions about plugin use with contacts and colleagues at other authorities throughout the EU, the most common reason cited by those unable to install plugins in Trados or the most significant hurdle to overcome is where plugins need to transmit data outside the local IT environment. Is there any way of telling which plugins transfer data out of the local IT environment or not form the AppStore, e.g. to improve the prospects of being allowed to request the installation of a certain plugin or not?

 In the appstore no... although we could add a mandatory field for this to the appstore for when we get to working on the backend environment again. I think would be a good idea so that we are transparent about what each app does. 
 Outside of the appstore the rule of thumb would obviously be MT apps, and terminology apps... most others probably don't do this as there is no need. But the way to test would be to use Fiddler and just take a look. You'll soon see whether anything is being sent out and/or being brought in.
