Multiterm Extract doesn't work

I installed Multiterm Extract on my corporate Windows 11 device (JAva version 8u411). After selecting File > Bilingual Term Extraction Project and selecting the tmx-file, then clicking on Finish, nothing happens and I just got to see this screen:

When selecting the tmx again, nothing still happens.

I contacted the RWS helpdesk. They proposed this workaround (https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000013662), but that doesn't help me at all because our devices have Windows 11 and Java 8u411 (downgrading isn't authorized by the company).Closing the app isn't possible afterwards. I just keep on receiving the message (Do you wish to exit MultiTerm Extract' Don't ask this question again. however I select Don't ask this question again and click on 'Yes' the pop-up continues to appear. Shutting down the app is only possible via Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
