Yes Time Tracker is still very much an active plugin that we maintain.
It was tested and improved for the Trados Studio 2024 release.

You can install it (as you may already know) directly from within Trados Studio via the Integrated AppStore


Or via the green Download button.

So when you say

Hello Lydia,

I tried to install Studio Time Tracker multiple time and always got the same issue: Failed to initialize view "Studio.Time.Tracker" (see screenshot below)

I use Studio version: 2022 SR2 17.2.10.19084 on Windows 11

 Helene Minville sorry for the delay in responding as it seemed I had the same problem across multiple versions of Trados Studio (2022 and 2024)
If you expand on your error, do yo see it complain about creating a backup?

I could fix this issue by:

1. Locating: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Studio.Time.Tracker
2. Renaming: Studio.Time.Tracker.settings.xml to old
3. While it then allowed me to open Studio error free, I did lost all my Time Tracker configurations. Example clients, rates etct.
   
   

Seems to me there is an issue of that settings file gets "corrupt". I will see if development can improve this area in newer versions

Did your response helped me?  No. I still have the same issue.  And, unfortunately, you did not offered me any solution.

I suggest you ask the developers to fix that issue asap, or you stop saying we have this amazing plug-in (Time Tracker) as it doesn't work.

Let me know when it will be fixed!

Despite this is the original error, I can click on show error details

Which may expose more than just "failed to initialise"

Even better yet, can you please save the error and attach it to your post so that I can see if there is more detail that is being overlooked?

This is what I get:  Error creating backup!

Now, I have (again) to fix as Studio doesn't want to open anymore.

Actually, here is (maybe) some valuable information as well:

I hope we will find a way to fix this issue.  Everytime I try to install it, it screws up Studio!

Please let me know if this workaround works for you too - because it really does help development efforts when workarounds are validated

 I dont know if my workaround works for you? But  I have logged a case with development on this SDLCOM-6041.

Do you by any chace have the error stack trace saved?
