Error when validating DeepL app

I am trying to validate my DeepL installation after the latest upgrade in the RWS app store, but suddenly I am getting the following error message after I click "Validate saved configuration": "This secret field has an invalid value in the saved configuration." I am using the same account and API key that I have always used (and that was working up until now). I definitely have a paid subscription to DeepL.

Is there something wrong with the app update or is there something else on my end that I need to udpate?

Thanks!

Amy

    This could be likely due to a temporary problem that the developer team noted yesterday, that affected all add-ons, and they have been working through the problem today restoring access.

    If that isn't the issue did you specify the correct version... so V1 or V2?  When your DeepL account is set up you have one or the other enabled and not both.

  • I did specify the correct version that I have (v2), and I get the same error message. Under the details of the error message, it says :

    {
      "message": "Method ValidateConfigurationSettings: Invalid configuration.",
      "errorCode": "invalidConfiguration",
      "details": [
        {
          "name": "apiKey",
          "code": "invalidKey",
          "value": "{\"message\":\"This account is not allowed to access the API.\"}"
        }
      ]
    }

    I have used the same account and same API forever until the update, so I'm pretty sure there is nothing incorrect that I am doing on my end.

    Thanks for the response!

    I spoke to the developer and he noted that it's likely you are clicking on “Validate Saved Settings” which is actually validating the previous settings, those that are already saved.  To validate with the settings that are currently in edit, you need to click “Save” first.  It may also be that you are upgrading from an older version that didn’t let users choose the DeepL API Version and now that you can, you are selecting the new API version but then clicking on “Validate Saved Settings”, which triggers the validation of what was previously chosen, and that is – V1.

  • Hi there,

    You're right, I did try clicking on "Validate Saved Settings" but this was only AFTER I received the error message that "This secret field has an invalid value in the saved configuration" when I initially completed the install. I have deinstalled and reinstalled many times, and I still get this error message: "This secret field has an invalid value in the saved configuration."

    I haven't tried creating a new API key yet, perhaps that could work?

    Thanks!
