What is the plugin version that you used?
I opened and tested with my 2021 installation and it seems to go well, as expected.
Can you save the error or show us a print screen with what exactly is the issue and where it triggers?

I downloaded the plugin Sdl.Community.DeepLMTProvider from https://appstore.rws.com/ the plugin version is 5.8.28.0 - Trados Studio 2021 , the only one available for Studio 2021. So hen I insert the API Key it does nothing. I click on ok and nothing happens.

Please try editing the API key—perhaps by adding a number temporarily and then removing it—before attempting to press OK again.
I recall encountering a similar issue once for Studio 2021.
Additionally, I recommend upgrading your software to the latest 2024 version to ensure that any current issues are resolved.

Also ran into this problem. My "solution" was to keep my API key handy and copy/paste it every time. :/
