No translations in editor with Google Cloud Translation Provider

Hello,

I just installed the Google Cloud Translation Provider plugin. I correctly associate my json file and my custom models show and everything seems to be fine until I close the configuration window and I get a message saying

"Google Cloud TP - V3 Advanced Translation does not admit any language combination in this project or project template. Consider using AnyTM..." (not sure if this is verbatim because my Studio is installed in Spanish).

If I add it through AnyTM, it seems to accept it but I get no results in the editor or pretranslating. Same thing happens with existing or new projects with any language combination configured for the project.

So, that's the issue, I'd much appreciate any help with this!

  • Hi  ,

Just to confirm, are you still running into this issue? If so, could you let us know if this is happening with an existing project or a new one?

Here are a few suggestions that might help resolve the problem:

    1. **Try a New Project**: Create a new project and add it in the translation provider window. Do you see the same message as before?

    2. **Check Translation Memory Settings**: Go to **File > Options > All Languages > Translation Memory and Automatic Translation Window** and see if the settings are configured correctly there.

    3. **Verify Language Pair Settings**: Under **File > Options > All Languages > Specific Language Pair**, double-check if everything is set up as expected.

    4. **Review Project Templates**: Make sure you’re not using project templates where the plugin might already be listed in the providers list.

Did any of these steps work for you? Let us know how it goes

    Regards,

    Oana

  • Hi Oana,

Thank you for looking into this.

    1) Just created a new project just to make sure, and yes, I get the same message that the provider doesn't admit the language combination.

    2) Settings seem fine, and my other AT provider plugins are working.

    3) Language pairs also seem all right, and I am adding the specific language variants per country of the project in the "Language Mapping" option of the plugin's settings.

    4) I am using the standard project template.

Also, I have tried with new and existing projects and the same happens every time, in Studo 2024 as well as in 2022.

    Regards,

    Miguel
