Deepl plugin is not pretranslating any segment from EN US into ES INT and it works fine with other combinations (FR FR and PT BR into ES INT)

Hello

I asked this replying in  one similar question but as there is no answer there I open this new thread. I also asked directly to Deepl support, last answer so far is that they are analyzing the issue.

Kindly note that I tried with several types of files, and it is not pretranslating from EN US into ES INT, even simple docx or pdf files.

And it worked fine from FR FR into ES INT on the first try.

I have used the Studio with Deepl plugin often for years. Last week I did a project with it and pretranslation was working fine, as usual.

So I suspect there is some issue happening with that language combination as it seems according to some other reported issues in this forum. (be aware that there are several recent threads reporting issues with this plugin at RWS community).

I remark that the plugin is working fine with other language combinations, I just opened a file from PT BR into ES INT and it worked fine.

And again I tried a pdf EN US into ES INT and also an xliff file from current project and no segment was translated.

I replied here sooner today:

In synthesis entry says:

I have a similar issue with Deepl plugin but there is no error message. Is simply not pretranslating anything. I tried with the pack, with a clean pack, only Studio and xliff files... I reinstalled the plugin, after I follow the provided indications up here about cleaning the folder plugin files and reinstall it.

I also create a project from zero with one file and then add the plugin.

When adding RWS cloud plugin it worked fine and pretranslated all segments as usual.

Why this is happening?

SDL 2022, plugin updated.

I just tried with a simple docx file and it did not pretranslate any segment.

I suppose that the result would be the same with an xliff or sdlxliff file .

Would Panda antivirus block the plugin? NO antivirus advise of that, just an IA warning upon research.

There are some other recent entries with same or similar issue (with different versions)

As someone says that it didnt work with some language combinations, I tried with anothers

Combination used so far was always EN US into ES international sort, no segment pretranslation.

I created a project from FR FR into ES international and it worked fine, all segments are pretranslated.

This is an urgent assignment, any explanation would be great.

No success using a new API key.

Why this happens with EN US into ES but not from FR or PT into ES?? Is very weird.

Deepl page says they dont support this plugin as it is from RWS.

But I am paying Deepl and I can not use it. I expect to have some solution here or with Deepl staff.

Thanks and regards

OGV

"In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:"

    Hello OGV,

Based on your description, it seems like you're experiencing issues with the DeepL plugin not pretranslating any segments from English (US) into Spanish (International) in Trados Studio. However, it works fine with other language combinations.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Step 1: Ensure that your Trados Studio and DeepL plugin are updated to the latest versions. You can check for updates within the application.

Step 2: Verify that the API key you're using for DeepL is valid. You can do this by logging into your DeepL account and checking the API settings.

Step 3: Check the language settings in your Trados Studio project. Make sure that the source language is set to English (US) and the target language is set to Spanish (International).

Step 4: Try creating a new project with the same language combination (EN US into ES INT) and see if the issue persists.

Step 5: If the issue still persists, it might be a specific issue with the DeepL plugin. In this case, you might want to consider reaching out to RWS Support for further assistance.

Please note that while DeepL supports a wide range of languages, not all language combinations are supported. You can check the supported languages on the DeepL website.
