Hi Comuunity,
Recently, I have received several reports from users about issues with the plugin setup.
I have finally managed to reproduce these errors. Most of them were related to incorrect resolution of the user's system folder paths on Windows.
New, improved versions of the plugins for Trados Studio 2022 SR2 and Trados Studio 2024 are now available (4.0.6.2022 SR2, 4.0.6.2024).
In addition, these versions ensure compatibility with LanguageTool package 6.6 and the required newer Java Runtime 17. If you install LanguageTool 6.6, in an older plugin version, you will not be able to run the local LanguageTool server. JRE 17 is required for LanguageTool 6.6 and later versions.
Required actions
Users of LanguageTool local server:
Use the Setup Wizard to install the new JRE 17 and the latest LanguageTool package 6.6.
Users of LanguageTool local server in two Trados Studio versions/instances (i.e. 2022 and 2024) on one computer:
Click the “Restore plugin defaults” button in the second Trados Studio software and then OK to set the path to the new JRE.
Users of cloud-based LanguageTool Premium:
Re-enter your authorization data (email address and API key) using the “API key for LanguageTool Premium” button.
