I have been trying to add a plug-in to my app.(studio subtitling), Since then,Trados studio won’t open anymore, it crashes after the first opening screen. I downloaded the plugin  from Trados studio, so it was open at that time. The first response I had from technical support was to check it was properly added to the app. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any of the extensions that were provided to me. I am now totally stuck, and I can’t even uninstall the plug-in, which would probably solve the problem.

I would be really glad if someone could talk me through the steps I’m supposed to take.
I I currently use Trados studio 2024 for which I have a proper license

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about the error message you receive when trying to open Trados Studio, as well as any troubleshooting steps you have already attempted.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems you're experiencing issues with Trados Studio 2024 after installing the Studio Subtitling plugin. To resolve this problem, please follow these steps:

**Step 1:** Close Trados Studio completely.

**Step 2:** Navigate to the following directory in Windows File Explorer:

    - For Trados Studio 2024: `C:\Users\%username%\App Data\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Packages`

**Step 3:** Rename the `Plugins` folder to `Plugins_old`. This will disable any third-party plugins, including the one you just installed.

**Step 4:** Optionally, you can run a repair installation of Trados Studio. To do this, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, find Trados Studio, right-click on it, and select "Repair".

**Step 5:** Restart your computer and then try to open Trados Studio again.

If Trados Studio opens successfully, you can then reinstall the plugins you need from the RWS AppStore, ensuring they are compatible with your version of Trados Studio.

If you continue to experience issues, please check for any antivirus software that might be interfering with the application, and consider adding the Trados Studio installation folder as an exception in your antivirus settings.
