Attaching Glossaries & Custom Model in Google Cloud Translation Provider

After installing the Google Cloud Translation Provider in Trados 2022 and activating it with a JSON file, but we cannot enable glossaries and custom models

Table showing language pairs with columns for source, target, glossaries, and models, all marked as 'Not available'.

Links displayed as 'Navigate to your project', 'Navigate to your glossaries', and 'Navigate to your custom models'.

Contrary to what the documents explain, we cannot configure glossaries and custom models here. Clicking the link only directs us to a screen for existing projects, terminology buckets, or datasets trained with legacy translations.

Is there a way to enable glossaries and custom models?

Question improvement suggestion: Please provide specific error messages or screenshots that illustrate the issue you are encountering with enabling glossaries and custom models. This will help in diagnosing the problem more effectively.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

To enable glossaries and custom models in the Google Cloud Translation Provider within Trados Studio 2022, please follow these steps:

**Step 1:** Ensure that you have correctly installed the Google Cloud Translation Provider and activated it using the JSON file. Double-check that the service account has the necessary permissions, specifically the "Cloud Translation API User" role.

**Step 2:** Go to Project Settings in Trados Studio and navigate to Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memories and Automated Translation. Here, ensure that you have selected the Google Cloud Translation Provider as your MT provider.

**Step 3:** If you are not seeing the option to add glossaries or custom models, it may be due to the configuration of your project. Try creating a new project and ensure that you add the Google Cloud Translation Provider at the project creation stage.

**Step 4:** After setting up your project, go to the "Glossaries" tab in the Language Cloud Translation Engine settings. Click "Add Glossary" and select the machine translation glossary you want to add. If this option is not available, it may indicate a configuration issue or a limitation with your current setup.

**Step 5:** If you continue to experience issues, consider checking for any updates to Trados Studio or the Google Cloud Translation Provider, as updates may resolve compatibility issues.

If you have followed these steps and are still unable to enable glossaries and custom models, please provide any error messages or additional details about your setup, as this will help in further troubleshooting the issue.
