Studio 2024: Automated pretranslation with Azure OpenAI not working

We use Trados Studio 2024 - 18.0.2.3255. We usually work with a remote connection, which makes Trados a little bit slower than working locally but it still works fine. We have now subscribed to Azure OpenAI  but pre-translation with AI when creating a project does not work. It doesn't work when we activate the batch task "Pre-translate" nor when we activate "Pre-translate Files with OpenAI provider for Trados". We have tried to pre-translate adding a local TM along with the OpenAI provider, as well as using only the OpenAI provider, but neither of these options work. However, it does work if we open the Editor and go through each segment manually. Then the AI pretranslates them without any problem.

Thanks for your help!

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific error messages or behaviors observed when attempting to use the pre-translation features, as well as any troubleshooting steps already taken.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing some challenges with the automated pre-translation feature in Trados Studio 2024 using Azure OpenAI. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

**Step 1:** Ensure that your Trados Studio 2024 is fully updated to the latest version. Sometimes, updates can resolve bugs or issues with features.

**Step 2:** Check your Azure OpenAI subscription to confirm that it is active and properly configured. Ensure that you have the correct API key and that it is entered correctly in Trados Studio.

**Step 3:** When creating a project, make sure that you have selected the correct settings for pre-translation. You may want to try disabling any other translation memories and only using the OpenAI provider to see if that resolves the issue.

**Step 4:** If you are still facing issues, try pre-translating a smaller file or a single segment to see if the problem persists. This can help isolate whether the issue is with the file size or specific content.

**Step 5:** If the pre-translation still does not work, consider using the AI Assistant feature in the Editor, as you mentioned it works fine when translating segments manually. This could be a temporary workaround while you troubleshoot the batch task issue.

**Step 6:** If none of the above steps resolve the issue, please provide any specific error messages you encounter or describe the behavior you observe when attempting to use the pre-translation features. This information can be crucial for further troubleshooting.
