Antidote Verifier overwrites segment rather than correct individual error

My team is implementing Trados Enterprise and wishes to integrate the Antidote Verifier plugin to Trados Studio.

In a test, one reviser (Linguistic Review) was applying corrections to a translation, tracked changes on.

When the reviser tried to apply a correction, Antidote Verifier overwrote the WHOLE segment rather than change the individual word or error.

Tracked changes reported approximately 5 edits had been brought to a segment within a matter of seconds. See screenshot below.

What explains this behaviour, and is it fixable?

Screenshot of Trados Studio interface showing Antidote Verifier plugin. The segment text is overwritten in red, with tracked changes indicating multiple edits in seconds. Contextual search results are displayed below with highlighted text and percentages.

Technical information:

Antidote Verifier plugin version: 4.1.0.0

Trados Studio version: Trados Studio 2024 SR1 - 18.1.2.6370

Antidote (software) version: 11 (v2.0.2)

Question improvement suggestion: Provide a detailed description of the steps taken during the testing process, including any specific settings or configurations used in Trados Studio and Antidote.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems that you're experiencing an issue with the Antidote Verifier plugin in Trados Studio where it overwrites the entire segment instead of correcting individual errors. Here are some steps and considerations that may help you address this behavior:

    **Step 1: Check Plugin Compatibility**

Ensure that you are using the correct versions of the Antidote Verifier plugin and Antidote software. You mentioned using Antidote version 11, which should be compatible, but it's always good to verify that there are no known issues with this specific version.

**Step 2: Review Tracked Changes Settings**

Since you are using tracked changes, ensure that the settings for tracked changes in Trados Studio are configured correctly. Sometimes, the interaction between tracked changes and external plugins can lead to unexpected behavior.

**Step 3: Test with Different Segments**

Try applying corrections to different segments to see if the issue persists across all segments or is isolated to specific ones. This can help identify if the problem is related to certain content or formatting.

    **Step 4: Check for Updates**

Make sure that both Trados Studio and the Antidote Verifier plugin are updated to their latest versions. Updates often include bug fixes that could resolve your issue.

**Step 5: Review the Antidote API Documentation**

Since the Antidote Verifier relies on the Antidote API, reviewing the API documentation may provide insights into how the plugin interacts with Trados Studio and if there are any specific configurations needed.

    **Step 6: Contact Support**

If the issue persists after trying the above steps, consider reaching out to the support teams for Trados Studio and Antidote for further assistance. They may have additional insights or solutions based on similar reported issues.
