Studio '14 unable to generate MXLIFF target that MemSource can open

Question

Hi everyone, 
 One of my clients has switched to MemSource. I want to keep using Studio '14 and have managed to open these MemSource files by adding *mxliff to the file types, but run into a problem when I generate my target translation (a MXLIFF file): MemSource says: "Unable to open MXLIFF file" 
 What am I doing wrong?

Just wanted to close this one off. The problem was related to segmentation information being stored in the target XLIFF which is the default setting when you use the out of the box XLIFF filetype. So ticking this option is the solution:

This could be tricky to answer without a lot more details to see who the file was translated and what memsource was expecting. merging or splitting segments for example... maybe that could play a part? Could be related to tag handling or segment statuses? Don't really know and am just guessing. 
 
There is a filetype for memsource on the appstore but this is for 2015 and 2017: 
 
 appstore.sdl.com/.../ 
 
It might work with 2014 (it's untested) but you probably won't be able to download it without a licence for 2015 or 2017 as the appstore will check for these.

Sounds like a very obliging client!! If you like I could test the file for you and it might give you some confidence that they could be handled successfully with a proper filetype?
