LanguageTool Plugin beta - new grammar checker for SDL Trados Studio

Hi, I would like to share my new plug-in for SDL Trados Studio.

This plug-in integrates LanguageTool grammar checker into SDL Trados Studio and enables grammar checking.
It works with Studio 2014, 2015 and should work also with Studio 2017.

“LanguageTool is an Open Source proofreading program for English, French, German, Polish, and more than 20 other languages. It finds many errors that a simple spell checker cannot detect and many grammar problems.”

I would like to get the feedback of the wider group of users on its functionality before I publish it in the SDL AppStore.

Thank you, Dariusz. Very nice, it works well in 2015 but does not seem to be doing anything in the official release version of 2017, even though I have also installed it there, can see it and can access the settings.

AbdulRahiem, I use LanguageTool Plugin in Studio 2017 and also I used it in Studio 2017 beta and everything works well.
If you have access the settings please check the settings are the same in in Studio 2017 and 2015. By default my plugin verifies only translated and approved segments, maybe it is the cause.

I tried to utilize the plugin, but failed.
First I downloaded the package and unzipped it to c:\. Then I used the command you gave to start the server. but Studio would not connect, telling me, that the server is not running.
BTW, does the server need to be started with every single Windows start? If so, I would need to have a batch doing that automatically after system start.

My plugin works only if LanguageToll server is running. So you need to start the server before using my plugin.

Youd can run stand-alone version of LangugeTool if you have problems with starting server.

1. Open languagetool.jar file.

2. Choose Options from Text Checking.

3. Select 'Run as server on port' check box and click OK.

I discovered it works on some PCs when direct (from command line) server start failed.

Might the problem be related with my WinRAR, where I associated the jar extension with?
