My customer is having an issue with using the Migration Utility Tool. It has worked fine on several of his PCs except 1. When he sets it running on this particular machine nothing comes up on screen, not even an error message, but in the task manager it appears to be running. However, the tool just doesn't work on this one machine.
I received the following advice to pass on:
It’s possibly because they still have remnants of old Studio installations on their machine and the app is confused about where it installed. Maybe uninstall it, do a proper clean-up of the PC to make sure there is either a proper installation of older versions or they are completely removed. Then install again and run it. Also make sure that the PC is running the latest version of .NET.
However, my customer says:
all the pcs had the same configuration at the moment of the plugin launch.
No previous versions of Studio have been removed and 2017 had a correct installation, just before launch the plugin.
The plugin was always the same file, downloaded in a central position and worked correctly on all the other pcs
I tried also to uninstall Studio 2017 and install it again, but nothing changed. The .NET actually running on the pc is 4.6.1
Does anyone have any other ideas???
