I cannot open Trados 2024, window prompting me to complete deinstallation of plug-ins and closing of all Trados instances opens instead

Hello,

after having installed the most recent update, Trados 2024 crashed repeatedly. Several times within a few minutes. In the community, it was proposed to deactivate plug-ins. Which I did. As this did not help, I deinstalled and reinstalled the program. It did not help. I then tried to deinstall the plug-ins through the PluginInstaller in the program files. The problem persists. I do restart my computer after each action. But the window prompting me to do all the things I already have keeps popping up.

I have reverted to Trados 2022 to be able to do my work. But this cannot be the solution. Any ideas?

Thank you.

Best wishes,
Heike

  • Hi Paul,

thank you for your reply. I have tried the steps you recommended, but it did not help. The folders keep recreating themselves whenever I try to open Trados. And when I checked the task manager for any open instances, way down the list I always found an active 32-bit version of Trados and stopped it. Did not help either. I found another thread from Jerzey on this issue which suggested to delete the Trados folder entirely. I haven't dared this yet for fear that I might also delete Trados 2022 which currently is my only option to complete any translation projects due.

Do you have any other idea?

    Best wishes,

    Heike
