From the Corporate Blog: Driving powerful search with knowledge graphs

I usually kick off every year by saying, "I can't believe it's {{currentYear}} and on-site search is still broken!"  Pardon the handlebars { }, it's just that I foresee it still being a problem in 2024, 2025, .... :)

In her blog post, our own Arpita Maity explores the value of using a Knowledge Graph to produce better search results.  In Tridion Sites 9.6 we introduced Knowledge Graphs as part of our Semantic AI release which provides additional functionality on the Content Management side ("Suggest Tags") and on the Content Delivery side ("Autosuggest" and "Dynamic Facets").  And of course we're looking forward the Knowledge Graph Content Recommendations that are coming in Sites 10.

I do find that Knowledge Graph based search is incredibly useful, especially when complemented with a good UI/UX design on both the Search Box and the Search Results pages.  In addition, we'd also be happy to share some best practices and tricks of the trade to help you do things like:

  • Curate lists of promoted content via tagging
  • Integrate external content via the use of "cards" that point to external content
  • Query multiple systems
  • Definite "Quick Actions" on the results.
  • ...and much more!

So read Arpita's blog post and then get in touch with your Account Executive or geeky Presales Consultant to chat about how we can unbreak search in 2023 (or maybe 2024)!
