For nearly a decade, Tridion product management and development has solicited community feedback on the SDL Tridion Ideas site.
This system was created and managed by SDL, based on the original SDL Ideas (language product idea submissions) and was ahead-of-its-time with several features including:
- categorized submissions
- comments
- voting
- user access management
Since the original Tridion Ideas launch, we have received 761 product submissions that helped highlight pain points and opportunities for improvement. Not all ideas for a product can be accepted, but we still use the submissions for research to help investigate and validate the direction of our products.
Earlier this year, to keep up with today's open and collaborate customer and implementer community, as well as to let us focus on the process of gathering and working with community feedback rather than maintaining the tool to do so, Product Management for SDL Web started plans to replace the old ideas site in favor of the "challenges and ideas" module on SDL Community.
We started a new group for SDL Web Ideas that you can join to submit ideas that replaces the old site. We will redirect the old URL to this group shortly and will evolve the process and setup as we go along.
One slight change we're introducing are "challenges" by Product Management that describe things we're interested in exploring where we could use feedback from the customer and implementer community. Though the tool is changing, soliciting community and customer feedback is not new for us. Note that customers can continue to submit enhancement requests via support tickets.
