Advanced Search, Favorites Management: What's New in Tridion Sites 10.1 Update 1?

We are thrilled to share the release of Tridion Sites 10.1.1, an update that brings new features and enhancements to the Experience Space user interface. This update builds on the foundation laid in Tridion Sites 10.1, delivering improvements that enhance usability and streamline content management workflows. In this blog post, we'll explore the key features introduced in this update.

Advanced Search

Main feature in this update is the new Advanced Search panel. This panel consolidates both basic and advanced search functionalities into a single, intuitive interface. Users can perform comprehensive searches across all content or limit their searches to item names or descriptions. The advanced search options, previously available only in the Classic UI's Content Manager Explorer, are now seamlessly integrated into Experience Space.

Key Highlights:

  • Unified Search Interface: Merges basic and advanced search into one panel, reducing clutter and additional clicks.
  • Flexible Search Options: Search within a specific context (folder) with or without including sub-folders.
  • Enhanced Filtering: Apply the same filter options as in Classic UI.
  • Save and Reset: Save search queries and reset options to default values.

Favorites Management

With this update, users can now add and remove favorites directly within Experience Space. Previously, favorites management was limited to viewing existing favorites, but now users have full control over their favorites list.

Key Highlights:

  • Add Favorites: Select one or more items and add them to your favorites.
  • Remove Favorites: Easily remove selected favorites from the toolbar or context menu.

Additional UX Improvements

This update also introduces several user experience enhancements that improve the overall functionality and usability of Experience Space.

  • Component Links Target Option: Users can now choose whether a Component Link should open in the current window or a new window, aligning with the behavior in Classic UI.
  • Table/List Views: Tables now display the number of visible and selected items, providing better insights into the content being managed.
  • Rendering Time in Publishing Queue: The Publishing Queue's Resolved items panel now displays each item's rendering time, offering more detailed information about publishing transactions. If the item failed to render, the error reason is displayed instead.

We hope you find these new features and improvements valuable. As always, we look forward to your feedback. Stay tuned for more updates!

  • Thank you, Alvin! Just to confirm customers don't need a full upgrade to benefit from these new features. Just install/patch the changes.

  • Congrats on the update! Those are welcome improvements to Experience Space. I also appreciate you don't need a full upgrade to take advantage of these, right? Customers can just install/patch the changes without manual hotfix changes.

Item count is back! Here, "table" refers to the main list views in the Experience Space interface (rather than the rich text format area table editor).

And it's even improved with both visible and selected items. Historically, that was one of those features that unintentionally relied on browser capabilities. So the product lost features like clean copy and past and item count when browsers started restricting programatic access to the clipboard (for good reason) or dropped/removed access to the status bar (not sure why that happened, though), respectively.
