Summary
This tutorial explains how to configure a Tridion Content Delivery instance with the oData Web Service.
It is meant as a guide, and it may be applicable only to the "GA" release of SDL Tridion 2011.

Testing publishing to the webservice
We will now guide you through creating a sample page, publishing it and retrieving it using the Web Service.
Create a Page in Tridion
Using the Content Manager Explorer, browse to the Root Structure Group and create a new Page
Give this page a name and file name (any name). Click Save and Close
Configure a Target Type and Publication Target
Using the Content Manager Explorer, click on the Administration Tab and select Target Types -> Show Target Types
Now click on Target Types -> New Target Type
Name this target type "oData Web Service" and click Save and Close
Now click on Publication Targets -> Show Publication Targets
Click on Publication Targets -> New Publication Target
Fill in the following settings and values:
Name: oData Deployer
Description: oData Deployer
Target Language: REL
Default Code Page: Unicode (UTF-8)
Click on "Add" on the lower left corner and enter the destination information:
Destination Name: oData Deployer
Protocol: HTTPS
Login / Password (anything)
Url: http://localhost:8080/TridionUpload/httpupload
Click on the Publication tab
Add the 000 Test publication and the oData Web Service Target Type to the list of "Allowed Publications" and "Allowed Target Types".
Click Save and Close
Go back to the Root structure group (you may have to click on "Content Management" on the lower left corner), select your test page and Publish it
Select the oData Web Service Target Type and click Publish
Click on the Publishing Queue icon to monitor progress
You will need to click on "Show Tasks" to refresh this list.
Try retrieving the list of pages from the webservice by browsing to the following URL: http://localhost:8080/cd_webservice/odata.svc/Pages
