Hi all,
I was reading a post on ProZ this evening from a user who wanted to know what tools were available to make Studio sucure for a particular client. In the past her client required her to "work on it using either a completely offline computer or else a "virtual machine" setup that creates almost the same effect within my regular system, plus encryption."
This is quite interesting and is something I've seen come up before from some customers... often requiring security in the event the computer is stolen or lost.
This got me thinking about an application that could manage this, maybe by doing something like this:
- Copy the Project and all associated resources to a password encrypted file on the computer.
- Remove the original from the computer and also the entry in the Projects xml
- Restore the Project
So, just a basic idea that still required the translator to remember to do this, but at least it would provide some kind of mechanism for additional security for anyone who wanted it.
Do you think this is feasible, or can you think of a better way to tackle it?
Regards
Paul
