sdk-feedback@sdl.com not available anymore, but still publicized on translationzone.com

Hi there,

I was wondering why we continue to publicize a feedback email address, if it does not exist anymore?

This feedback email address is for instance given for the "SDLTradosStudio.Bookmarks" app:

http://www.translationzone.com/openexchange/app/sdltradosstudiobookmarks-670.html

I had serious trouble with this app and would recommend not to install it, since for the reasons explained here:

https://community.sdl.com/phase_2_groups/studio_beta_group/f/37/p/3104/11367.aspx#11367

after installing it, you get this really annoying error message "Reference Object not set..." each time you open an SDLXLIFF file without translatable segments, which happens very often, if you are testing filetype settings, and even happens quite often in the real life of a translator.

Is there anyone who will fix this and how should the person be contacted?

Thanks in advance

Frank

  • It is still available Frank... but it's there for users rather than developers.  So anyone with problems in using the apps developed by SDL can use that address to get help.

This particular app will probably be integrated into Studio soon so we won't be spending time fixing bugs on the OpenExchange version.

Incidentally, I don't get this message when working with this app.  The only problem I ever have is when clicking on the orange start/end file markers... so I try not to do that!

  • Hi Paul, thanks for the reply.

I understand that the email address is only available for external email users.

The problem with the orange start/end file markers is, that if you do not have a single translatable segment in the SDLXLIFF file, the cursor must automatically end up on the orange thingy and therefore will automatically give you an error. I hope this gets fixed before integration into Studio.

    Regards

PS If you want, open the attached RTF in Studio and see what I mean.
