Submit SDL plugin

Hello,

I wrote an SDL plugin for SDL Studio and I want to submit it to the AppStore. I did everything I needed, I think. I filled in an icon, description, support and uploaded the necessary documents, such as manual and screenshot. The only thing missing is the plugin itself (LookUp4Trados.sdlplugin). If I upload this, I get an error message: File type not allowed. Do I have to do something with it beforehand?

Norbert

  • Can you share a screenshot of where yo are trying to upload it?  It sounds s though you're trying to do it in the same place as the screenshots rather than where it should go.  You need to be in the version of the plugin you created.

  • Yes you are right. But it was also the only way to upload something. I also thought that I would have to somehow sign it beforehand in order to avoid the message when starting SDL-Studio.

I am not sure what you mean. I have only one Plugin and one version

Trados Studio app screenshots and documents upload page showing three items labeled SDLPlugin1.png, SDLPlugin2.png, and SDLPlugin.pdf as uploaded with a 'Remove' button next to each.Error message in Trados Studio stating 'File type not allowed' in red with an 'X' icon and a 'Download' button to the right.

SDL Account page showing 'Products & Plans', 'Apps & Developers', 'Support & Education', and 'Account' tabs with an 'Add a New App' section and an incomplete app labeled 'LocalApp_SDL Studio Konverter'.

  • ok - so you are adding here:

Header reading 'App Screenshots and Documents' indicating the section for uploading media related to the app.

This is only for "screenshots and documents".  You need to go here:

Trados Studio interface showing 'LookUp SDL Studio Konnektor' app information with a red arrow pointing to version number 1.0, suggesting an incorrect versioning format.

You can have multiple versions for an app so each version has it's own space where you add the relevant details for that version and for the app installer itself.

Please also note you have used 1.0 as the version number which will cause problems.  You should be using the semantic versioning described here:

You cannot sign it.  We do this.  You can either send it to us (app-signing@sdl.com) via a dropbox or google drive link for example (DO NOT EMAIL IT) and we will sign and send it back, or you can just put a note in the app record when you submit it for the appstore and we will sign it before releasing to the appstore.

  • We correct the version number I put it to Google drive, and I hope Google send the link correctly. But at the and I have no idea to place the plugin in the appstore

  • I got your plugin... or at least I got the link.  I sent you a request for access as I don't use google drive with my SDL address and you protected the link.

    On this...

But at the and I have no idea to place the plugin in the appstore

    Perhaps this will explain...

  • Do I get a message when you send the plugin back?

  • We've sent you two emails now because we cannot access the location you placed the file.  suggested you just put into the appstore and we can take it from there as admins, sign it and put it back.  Then we can tell you when it's done in case you need to make any more changes to the record bfore we publish it.

  • Unfortunately I have not received any emails. But I have now uploaded everything and the status is submitted
