  • Arnaud, the point is that there is more than enough generic macro/scripting tools available (like the AutoHotkey) which can be used for this purpose. I see no need to spend a fortune on development of such feature.
  • Hi Evzen,

In some ways I agree with you as Autohotkey is a great tool which can be as simple, or as complex as you like. However, I would like to see some simple macro tools in Studio that could simplify common things such as stringing together commands in Studio or windows commands and cursor movements. I looked at this once with one of the API developers and of course this could be done. But it isn't a simple task to build the features as part of the product as you pointed out, so the idea sits lower down our list of things to do than many other things at the moment. But I would like to see something like this.

    Regards

  • OK, Evzen, I bettere understand now your point of view. And I may agree with Paul too.
As a linguist, one of trhe most important task is in to work in the Editor so every tool that can speed up or help that process is welcome. That's why I implemented since long that macro in Word before to use Trados.
Sadly, I am not a programmer but only a kind of re-coder. So I am yet unable to programm any API of this kind.
    Best regards

  • Paul, as I said many times, I would definitely like to see the EXISTING features FINISHED and bugs fixed rather than bringing "new management's toys"... which WILL be left half-baked and unfinished again, because managers do like new toys and don't care about that oh so expensive maintenance.

  • Evzen, as I've said many times this is just something we could do via the APIs. Different people altogether!!
