I have been unsuccessful in getting the SourceToTargetCopier working when the ExistingContentHandling enumeration set to .Preserve, example:
converter.AddBilingualProcessor(new SourceToTargetCopier(ExistingContentHandling.Preserve));
converter.Parse();
it seems to work perfectly when the enumeration is set to .Replace or .ThrowException, but I need to use the .Preserve
Can someone please confirm if they can get this working with the .Preserve enum?

I am not getting any error,
when I choose the enumeration .Preserve, the new SDLXLIFF file is created without copying the source into the target (when the target is empty).
Note: with the same test - when I choose the enumeration .Replace or .ThrowException, then it works as anticipated (i.e. source is copied to target correctly).
Can you provide your SDL XLIFF file you are working with?

The SDLXLIFF file that I sent you seems to be segmented correctly and the target area's are empty, which is why I am bit lost as to why it does not work; more than likely, I am missing something, but it would be great if you can confirm on your side.

I checked code and there is a bug - I will log and we will fix it for next release.
Till then I guess the easiest way would be to create your own implementation of this processor.

Thank you for confirming and following up with this bug.
For now I have just added the following addition to the ProcessParagraphUnit method to copy a clone of the IAbstractMarkupData segment items from the source.
for me this seems to be working correctly; what do you think?

I don't see any issue - please do remember that the behavior needs to be different for files which were not segmented - in that case you need to copy entire paragrahpUnit.Source
