We have contracts that allow the vendor to switch from word-based rates to hourly rates whenever the source document contains only a certain (small) number of words.
As a lot of end users are not aware of this or do not have means to do the word counts for e.g. XML documents, it would be great if conditional logic could get put into Trados that then selects the appropriate cost model, for both the (internal) cost calculation as well as the vendor cost model.
Are there any plans to develop something in Trados Enterprise that would allow such use case by either by automatically switching the cost model or do a check and then prompt the user if they may want to chose another cost configuration?
We often get complaints about deviations between the Trados cost calculation and the invoiced amounts - this is one of the mayor factors that explains deviations and we do not have means to enforce users to only use the project template with the applicable (word based, time based) cost model based on the source word count.
