A real PM role in projects

Projects are managed by PMs and now it is not a way to sort by PM or own the Project.

PM should have the rights to review the project online, create packages, upload and download files, very right without assigning the task to that person. Like a super user for that project.

Right now, if you have a problem the PM needs to: reassign the project to himself, if you have 12 files in the language that means receiving 12 emails, then when you accept the translator will receive 12 emails saying that the task is assigned to smoeone else.

Then do the task, then reassign to the translator to continue and so on with emails.

Should be a PM or Super User, or Owner or something role, so you can sort project by that person, see your own projects, reasign responsabilities to someone else and resolve technical problems without assigning to you the task.

  • I support the suggestion. I would ask for general redesign of the whole project management and notification process and visualization. The system with email notifications for every assignment step is annoying, we are not using it, instead we set up filters in email for these notifications to go to a separate folder and we never check them.
Please redesign the whole project management process. You may model it after Smartcat - they did it right! Perhaps emails should be sent only for "Translation Task is assigned to you" and "Editing Task is assigned to you". The rest can be managed with a  more visual presentation of the projects in the projects list. Currently the project list is useless. It doesn't show word count, the progress percentage is meaningless, it doesn't reflect the real progress of the project, it doesn't show how many words are left to translate and to review, or who is assigned to perform which tasks, what is the current stage of the project at a glance. Again, learn from Smartcat how the Project list can be done in an intuitive, informative and useful way.
