This functionality does not exist in the core product, neither in local nor cloud TMs. Having said that, according to (+) Can Variables in the Language Processing Rule take Regex? - 5. Regex and XPath - Trados Studio - RWS Community, the TermInjector app at https://appstore.rws.com/Plugin/75 provides similar functionality and more. When using Studio, you can use it for all types of projects. Against this background, setting this to "Idea Delivered Partially" as the app seems to cover this requirement.
Currently, Trados Studio supports using regular expressions in the variables of language resources.
However, in Trados Team, when customizing variables in the language processing rules, usage of regular expressions is not supported, which is a big step back compared to what we already have in Studio. I hope this support for usage of regex in the variables of language processing rules can be added to Trados Team.
