[Online Editor] Merge function of sentenses split by line breaks

Trados Live Team has the ability to merge sentense, but this is not effective for sentense that have been split by line breaks.

In many of the files to be translated, the author may have inserted line breaks for layout purposes at places where they are not the original sentense separators. But, when managing a project in Trados Live Team alone, there is no facility for merging sentenses split by line breaks. In addition, Trados Live Team does not have the ability to edit and replace source files that had such problems, only to rename and add files.

There is a need for a function that can also merge sentenses split by line breaks, such as the editor function in Trados Studio.

    Yes, Studio does have this function, but not by default, you need to deliberately activate it for a project and this is for a good reason: merging across paragraphs can create problems when generating the target file, and it can be very time-consuming to find which paragraph merge is the culprit once you reached the end of the document.
    This is why one should, whenever possible, avoid using this function.

    If the source document is badly formatted, this should be corrected there before submitting the document to Studio or Trados Team.

    Your opinion is certainly valid, but you need to understand that the majority of users posting and voting here understand such things.

    Project managers don't want to have to recreate projects over and over for this reason, or rename and add files, resulting in chaos in the files registered in the project.

    Yes, one of the big dilemmas in our industry is that it's so hard to "get it right at the source". The ideal is to get it right upstream, and we should keep pushing wherever we can, but it remains tricky. Project managers are downstream and should not have to correct such files (but I agree this is still a reality). Anyway, it's a difficult topic...
