Hello, dear engineers,
This is a very recurring issue in Switzerland: fees are commonly rated by lines, defined as caracters including spaces divided by 55 (or 50 or else). Unfortunately, the Trados Studio Report (analyze files) is designed for caracters without spaces only. This means very complicated Workarounds to calculate the fees: copy-paste in a word file, conversion sheets in Excel etc.
We absolutely need to:
- get lines/caracters count according to Microsoft Word statistics (including spaces)
- apply this count to other formats, too (ppt, idml, excel)
There's a plugin which almost does this: Target Word Count. But it's not working properly (differences with Microsoft Word Statistics, unable to apply Trados Report (TM matches) to lines etc. See Support Ticket 00843105 and Community question "Trados Studio Trados report: how to deal with caracters INCLUDING spaces"
This would be a great help if you coud fix that.
