Studio does not support languages without sublocales, but indeed in MultiTerm they are best practice. You can, however, map the MultiTerm languages to Studio languages in project termbase settings, so this would be the recommendation for this particular scenario.

Add 2 new language codes supporting Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional Termbases

Studio currently uses the following language codes for termbases:

1. ZH-CN for Chinese Simplified - China

2. ZH-TW for Chinese Traditional - Taiwan

However, the Studio does not support the following language codes with no sub-locales for termbases:

1. ZH-HANS for Chinese Simplified

2. ZH-HANT for Chinese Traditional

Therefore, Studio needs to add “ZH-HANS” or “ZH-HANT” language codes on top of currently supported “ZH-CN” and “ZH-TW” language codes to fully support Chinese Simplified and Traditional without sub-locales.
