Allow Japanese DOCX translators to insert index entry sort order tags into there .DOCX.SDLXLIFF files

Unlike for Adobe Framemaker MIF files to be translated into Japanese (or from Japanese),
the Studio DOCX filter does not have a mechanism for translators to specify the sort order of DOCX index entries, nor are existing sort-order tags extracted from Japanese DOCX files.

Documentation of the Apply index entry sort order tags for Adobe Framemaker MIF:

https://docs.rws.com/980998/643547/trados-studio-2022/displaying-sort-order-tags-correctly-in-adobe-framemaker

https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000002286

To avoid DOCX rework after "Generate target translations" (or complicated work-arounds), it would be good, if such a feature could be added to the DOCX filter in Studio.

In the RTF format, this index entry looks like this:

{\xe {\rtlch\fcs1 \af31507 \ltrch\fcs0 }{\rtlch\fcs1 \af31507 \ltrch\fcs0 \loch\af31506\hich\af31506\dbch\f11 \uc2\u-26885\'93\'64\u-30095\'98\'62\u30058\'94\'d4\u21495\'8d\'86}{\rtlch\fcs1 \af31507 \ltrch\fcs0 \yxe }{\rtlch\fcs1 \af31507 \ltrch\fcs0 \loch\af31506\hich\af31506\dbch\f11 \uc2\u12391\'82\'c5\u12435\'82\'f1\u12431\'82\'ed\u12400\'82\'ce\u12435\'82\'f1\u12372\'82\'b2\u12358\'82\'a4}{\rtlch\fcs1 \af31507 \ltrch\fcs0 }}

  • I would recommend to please focus on development for projects that have English source DOCX being localized into target Japanese DOCX.
    I assume that we rarely receive source JA DOCX files with index sections. And even if we did receive that file type and setup, the sort order applied to the JA index entries would not need to be extracted for translation into English. The Index in the target English file will sort alphabetically without the need of sort order per index entry. Please see my next comment for more details and sample files.
