Create a possibility of adding variables and abbreviations to language resources on the fly

When working with Studio it is quite often necessary to add variables and/or abbrevations to the language resources list of your working TMs. Especially when working with project TMs it ends up in quite a hard job, as you have to open the language resources of TWO TMs at least and add the variables/abbreviations there. Takes lots of time - but could be done easily on the fly, if that would be just made possible.

    To sum up a subject which I hope is not becoming tedious, the ideal solution for someone who uses voice recognition would be to find some means of bringing over a non-translatable immediately to the target segment cursor position while at the same time adding it to the variables list.

    In fact, further to this, for a non-translatable in WordBird, if you use the "mouse" method, it is necessary to press a key (Ctrl) then single click the blue underlined variable. Perhaps an ideal solution for this use case would be to be able to simply select any non-translatable (usually merely by double clicking) then press a key and click the highlighted text to bring it to the cursor position in the target segment. This would eliminate the need for any variable list.

    I realise that this does not cover other use cases of the variable list but I think it is worth adding this observation to the discussion.

    Paul, I don't wish to second-guess your developers, who no doubt have to take into account a variety of use-cases, but in the case of voice recognition, all that is needed is a quick way to bring a non-translatable over from the source segment and insert it at the cursor position (which might not be the end of the sentence in the case of dictation over only part of a segment, which is a frequent occurrence in technical documents where some segments consist of small bits of text between non-translatables and many tags).

    The non-translatable would not even need to be added to any list if there were some instant way of bringing it to the target cursor position (such as double-click to highlight, then a keyboard shortcut).

    For example, I might have a segment like this:

    2) <tag>Le calcul du keff par le code MONTE-CARLO MORET <tag>II<tag> qui utilise :

    In this case, I copy source to target, dictate the first part of the sentence but bring over keff and MORET as non-translatables and then overwrite "qui utilise" by dictation. This technique is sometimes (but not always) quicker than clearing the segment and reinserting the tags, which are sometimes much more complex than in the above example. Providing "keff" and "MORET" are already inserted into WordBird, this is very quick and easy but without such a solution it can make working with voice recognition on technical documents very slow.
