CTRL + J to merge segments without selecting seg. numbers

Hi there,

Could CTRL J be added with some further automation to recognize seg. numbers when merging segments?

At the moment, "Merge" operation can only be used by clicking the seg. numbers Cursor hovering over segment numbers 8098 and 8099 in Trados Studio, indicating a selection for merging.

Could we make it "old school" and make that option available when right-clicking (or hitting CTRL +J) several segments just in target column? Trados Studio interface showing segment status icons, with one segment at 98% match and another at 100% match.

It would make Studio much more agile, since shortcut could be used. At the moment, shortcut is not pretty useful, since you still need to use mouse to make Merge know which segments are affected. Slight smile

  • Well, but this is already there... You can change the shortcut for merging segments to whatever you want. And it is already possible to select segments in target with a keyboard shortcut (NOT the same as in Word) and merge the segments, even over the paragraph marks. So why change anything?
