Enable File Access by Alphabet Key Press in Trados Studio

Current Issue

In Trados Studio's Projects View or Files View, there is currently no functionality to quickly navigate to files by pressing a letter key on the keyboard. This is a standard feature in many applications, such as Windows Explorer, where pressing a letter automatically highlights or navigates to the first file or folder starting with that letter. The absence of this feature in Trados Studio makes it cumbersome to locate specific files, especially in projects with a large number of files.

Suggested Solution

Implement a keyboard-based navigation feature in the Files View that allows users to press a letter key and immediately jump to the first file whose name begins with that letter. For example, pressing "C" should highlight the first file starting with the letter "C." This feature would significantly enhance usability by streamlining file navigation and improving productivity, particularly for users managing extensive projects.

This functionality aligns with user expectations from similar applications and would make Trados Studio's interface more intuitive and user-friendly.
