Feature Request: Option for Single-Click Term Insertion from the Term Recognition Window

Hello Development Team,

 

I would like to request an option to simplify term insertion from the Term Recognition window.

 

Currently, inserting a term requires two steps: right-clicking a term and selecting “Insert term translation” from the right-click menu.

This process feels unnecessarily cumbersome, especially since it is performed frequently during translation.

 

It would be very helpful to have an option to insert a term with a single click.

Frequently repeated actions should be simplified as much as possible.

    A double-click option sounds like a good idea as well — it could make insertion faster while avoiding accidental clicks.

    It might be even better to allow users to choose between single-click and double-click insertion.

    I completely agree. AutoSuggest is definitely very powerful, and I also use it a lot.

    At the same time, I think different users have different workflows, and some rely more on the mouse when selecting between multiple terms.

    In my case, I prefer to insert terms with the mouse when my right hand is already on it.

    Additionally, single-click insertion could be faster in some cases, especially in English-to-Japanese translation, where terms often include kanji and require IME conversion before AutoSuggest works.

    Totally agree with you, I have never used the mouse option before, AutoSuggest is the thing here. But for mouse users this would be useful indeed. Maybe with a double click, however?

  • Why to use mouse for term insertion? You can press CTRL+SHIFT+L to have all the terms listed. However, in my opinion the main way to insert terms is auto suggest.

    This said, your idea is a good one. If using mouse, it should be as simple as that. Right click should be used for other actions with the term selected.
