Trados Studio still needs to improve its ability to handle large or big files

Over the past few years, I have been keeping  caring about the new product launches of Trados Studio. It seems that every time a new version of Trados Studio (desktop software) is released, there is mention of improved handling of large files. However, over the years, Trados Studio's ability to handle large files seems to have shown no substantial improvement or enhancement; it remains very slow and sometimes incapable of processing them.

I might have seen some information mentioning that Trados Studio can handle up to 100,000 segments, but in reality, it falls far short of this capability. I conducted a test using a file with a total of 27,000 segments. From opening this SDLXLIFF file with Trados Studio 2022 or Trados Studio 2024 (desktop software) to performing various translation management operations—such as copying all source text to the target, clearing all target segments, and locking repeated segments after their first occurrence etc.—Trados Studio 2022 or Trados Studio 2024 (desktop software) experiences severe lag, often freezing for several minutes or longer until it becomes almost dead. My computer is high configuration, with a 2TB solid-state drive and 32GB of RAM, so this issue should not be related to my computer but rather to the Trados Studio software.

Sometimes a book or a large academic paper can reach hundreds of thousands of words, and some complex translation projects are inconvenient to split.

I hope the Trados Studio technical team can use advanced technology and wisdom to improve and enhance the Trados Studio (desktop software) product, increasing its ability to handle large files in future upgrades or versions. If the maximum processing capacity is 100,000 segments, with an average of 5-10 words per segment, I hope Trados Studio (desktop software) will be able to efficiently and quickly process files containing 500,000 to 1 million words.
