This functionality is available in the in-browser Publication Editor that is available in the context of the Tridion Docs 15.3 release

In the Baseline view, the user can use column filters or type-to-filter.

This has a lot of appeal now that you can no longer do secondary sorting on the Baseline tab. We used to sort by object type, then by status, so we could release all the maps at the same time easily, then…

This would be particularly valuable to filter on (in our case) functional area owner metadata, or feature metadata, or bug metadata, or other values where we might want to coordinate activity in part through metadata values on the content.
