Not Considering

We automatically select the user’s working language (usually the source language) to provide a better user experience.

This allows users to focus on actions related to the content (such as previewing or downloading) or on updating metadata using the Properties panel.

Regarding the list behavior in Organize Space, it follows common UX patterns. For example, in Windows File Explorer, you will see similar behavior:

  • Selecting a row changes the current selection
  • Checking a checkbox adds the item to the existing selection

When viewing an object in Organize Space, can the latest version row be selected by default rather than the working language?

In Tridion Docs 15.2.0 Organize Space, when viewing the details of an object with multiple languages, the working language is automatically selected by default. (This is the case in Tridion Docs 15.0 as well.)

Not realizing this, a user has accidentally deleted their ‘en’ working language a few times when selecting a target language placeholder to delete, such as ‘fr’.  When working with objects that have up to 24 languages, they did not notice that ‘en’ was selected by default, and it was not unselected when selecting different languages to delete. The ‘en’ language stayed selected and was also deleted.

Can the latest version row be selected by default rather than the working language in the version?
