Can we generate a little wider vertical rules for Table Headers with respect to Table body?

Hi, 
 I need to generate the vertical rules of 2 points of width for Table Headers and 0.5 points of width for Table Body within a single Table. 
 Is there anyway to achieve this. 
 Please advise.

No as Jonathan already indicated that is not possible within the core XPP. So up to finding workarounds that might work, like how about splitting the table in 2? A table for the header and a separate table for the body?
