XPP 9.2.2.0
I tried to load a new font to our XPP today and after answering yes to Update the font search path, I got the error "Error running 'makepres': Failed with error 1". Now, all of our fonts look bad when we open up any of our jobs. They were fine before doing the font copy to load the new font. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There could be a few things that went sideways here -- it would be best to open up a support ticket and provide all steps leading up to this.
Beyond a support ticket, the first place I would look is in the xz/psres area. Is there a substantial size difference between the PSres.upr file and the PSres.bak file - if so, you might want to try the following:
1) rename PSres.upr to something like PSres.BAD
2) rename PSres.bak to PSres.upr
Close down any open XyViews and re-open a DIV to see if the fonts resolve.

There actually was not a .upr file for the PSres. So, I copied the .bak file and added .upr to the end. I opened up different jobs and the fonts are looking great.

Next step would be to open that ticket to see if you could replicate what happened while support shadows your screen. =)
The first suspect would be the new font you loaded.
Maybe there is something wrong with that font.
Have a look in the fonts folder under the psres folder.
You should find a folder named after the new font you tried you load.
Have a look if you can find anything unusual in there.
If in doubt remove that folder and first look if you can run the makepsres utility on your existing fonts folder.
(make sure to have a copy of that all important psres.upr file just in case things go wrong again)
